In 2013 Welkin College School began as a small BC Offshore school located in the unlikely location of Sokcho, South Korea. With 10 students to start, it grew, through strong word of mouth, to 96 students in grades 1-12. Our students would routinely graduate with strong marks and enter universities throughout North America. We were praised by the BC Ministry of Education as “the gem in the mountains of Korea”.
In 2017, Welkin College School boldly moved its secondary program from South Korea to BC, Canada.
Like any other independent school in BC, it meant undergoing a rigorous inspection and compliance to provincial standards before proudly receiving our designation, Group 4 Status. Although our location changed, our deep commitment to our students’ well-being and success never faltered.
Welkin College School is now continuing that same tradition of excellence in Canada, offering a nurturing education where everyone can succeed. We are proud and honored to be building a diverse and enriching learning experience for local and international students.
